The view from my hotel room’s back window didn’t look real. It was like one of those weird dioramas at a museum just without the creepy mannequin early humans hunting or some other nonsense. This was an upscale property and it did not disappoint.
It had its own hiking trails which I hit a couple times between assignments and they reminded me of how much I miss stomping around Minnehaha Falls. There is something I love about marching through nature that’s hard to replicate on a random suburban street.
This was the view out the front door of my room and I think that’s Camelback Mountain but don’t hold me to that guess. I left there in a great mood as we celebrated the top performers from our entire company. But I left exhausted because we were the ones hosting the show and I’d forgotten how draining that could be. Even while trying to relax you never do so completely because you want to make sure everyone is having a good time. It all turned out for the best but I flew out on Monday morning and I’m still a bit off even today. All should be well by tomorrow and I will get a full weekend to relax.
I almost took this week off but a couple of you are persistent in your presence.
