what's this about
I got asked a bunch of questions over the break and one came up more than once. I have only told a handful of friends about this blog but apparently anyone who was subscribed to my old one got notified when I started writing again. Two completely different sites, different names, same writing platform. There is probably some boring behind the scenes bullshit that explains it and no doubt that I could have prevented the leak but thats just spilt milk under the bridge at this point. The old site was a way for my children to see a different side of their father when they went away to college. I ended up writing for a long time and just last year with the help of a dear friend turned it all into a book. err, series of books that I had printed on Amazon. Five volumes to be exact. If you ever get curious just search "stupidtom" on amazon and you can see them.
*don't buy the printed copies. I don't make a dime on them that's just the cost of on demand printing. The Kindle versions are the lowest price I could charge so a much better deal but again I make nothing so this isn't a plug - just information.
I had a long drive back to think about the purpose of this deal. #1 is to give me a writing outlet. I love to write, I love telling stories, this scratches that creative itch but thats not what people were asking. So the answer is I look at this like a series of electronic postcards. A way for people who are interested to keep up with me and my life while I'm not around. The kids know about it as well as the aforementioned others so its not a big audience but then again neither are postcards.
And there is the answer to the question. My little apartment entertains me but I can't wait for the world to right itself so I can get out into this neighborhood. This is the view from my bedroom.
After coming to this revelation I am going to try and include a picture with most posts because... postcards.
