very busy
I have been a busy boy as of late. It started with the state fair which is a big deal around these parts. The people watching there is a complete level up from my balcony or the airport. What a great time. So good in fact that I'm going back tonight and quite possibly tomorrow as well. How can you not have fun when it rains and you get to buy a $5 rain hat like the one worn by childhood idol Ray Rayner. No one tells you that protective hair will prevent the little plastic umbrella structural pieces from digging into your scalp. Lesson learned, I might need a prophylactic yarmulke for the next wearing.
And then it was back to Ames for opening day tailgating. I found some old dear friends and also got to hang out with my youngest and crew. It was great but I didn't go too hard as this was a day trip. Next week I'm staying Friday to Sunday so I can dust off the cobwebs on that trip. I was talking with a few different folks of my generation and the unanimous opinion was that we went to college during the perfect time for us. No pesky cameras everywhere leaving evidentiary trails of your misdeeds and or fun all over. Just poor decisions and foggy memories.
and now if you'll excuse me I'm about due for a holiday weekend nap...
