oh snow you don't
It’s been a bit of a dumping here this week and you might think that people who live Canadia adjacent would know how to deal with snow. Nope, not downtown Saint Paul. Along with the general poor economic conditions here due to a general lack of care they have also decided to slow roll snow removal. If you wanted to do anything mid week you were shit out of luck unless you were willing to risk what I like to call “embankment.”
The falling snow/fog/general lack of visibility didn’t help matters either. Who in the hell lives her on purpose? oh, that’s right, me.
It was so bad at one point that I had to rollover a burn after misjudging the location of a curb. Me walking outside was brought to you by the good people at Lets make the security people who unlock the crime riddles skyway system in the morning shovel out the front doors before they do anything else. I can’t even be mad because this is NOT what they signed up to do. I was happy to entertain as one of the guys I see on the regular watched my slip-fall-roll and spring-up-like-I-meant-to-do-it performance. Haven’t had snow down my back since I stopped snowplowing a couple years ago. I don’t miss it.
Things eventually warmed up and got back to the new normal. I love my building but am a little tired of this city as it stands. I can’t wait until we move offices and I follow closely behind. I will miss these views though.
