Less is more
I want to talk about less stuff for a minute. This is a big chance for me to trim extra crap from my life. Everything that makes it into my new home will have a job or mean something to me. If that criteria is not met then it doesn’t get to stay.
I have no idea why the thought of this makes me so happy but it does. I have turned down so many generous offers from friends because I don’t really want a bunch of stuff. A beautiful butcher block 18 piece knife set is an example because when I thought about it I really need one sharp knife.
There are some things that I will by more of because they will serve a purpose; dishes, silverware, glasses, etc. Not go crazy but be able to have a couple people visit on the spur of the moment and not share a cup. Two barstools at my island slash dining table because one looks weird. You get the idea.
I’m catching some crap for just one tv. It’s like 700 square feet. If I want to watch The thing I’ll go to it. Plus I’m living alone so if I end up sleeping on the couch... I’m the only one who would care, and, nope.
I should also note that it does kind of crack me up to just have one of something that you usually have a bunch of like knives. I will have knife. Pot. Pan. Not that funny but it entertains me.
