idiot
I am beginning to annoy myself right now but the dating thing is currently all consuming. And not in a good way by any stretch of the imagination. An incident popped up today that is compelling me to write so there isn't much I can do. For anyone whose browser broke and you got here by accident I will catch you up. Divorced 56 year old who hasn't dated in roughly 35 years finds himself in a new city and looking for someone to hang out with. I tried one dating app and it was a disaster. I even told myself I was done for a while. But then, because Google is always listening, I got an offer for another popular one at a deep discount. (yup, I am cheap as well. The complete package really) This one forces the woman to make first communication contact which takes some of the creepy out of it for them I guess. If you know anything about this awful electronic dating world you probably know what app I'm talking about but no need to drag those fine folks as they are just trying to help.
So I'm on this new thing figuring it out because there can't be a universal swiping system that everyone follows as it might make things too easy and also make it tough to distinguish one from another. (take a deep mental breath after that awful run-on sentence) I was literally minutes into the thing when a nightmare from my past reared her ugly head. That sentence might seem harsh but the 4 people I reached out to as the fear washed over me would back me up without hesitation. I will not give any more details because even though I consider this human being an enemy combatant It wouldn't be fair to launch an attack that she will never see and can't defend. And for clarification, when she and I finally to run into each other in this big small town, there will be unpleasantries exchanged.
And I got a question in the comments from a suspect email address so I deleted it but thought it, the question, was legit. By suspect I mean that the internet bots are relentless. On all social media they "friend" you and immediately begin flirting. The trick is to click on the person you've never heard of and go to their profile. 4 pictures all in some form of undergarment, no other posts, 5,000 followers all super horny dudes = delete. I have no idea what the end game is or if anyone falls for their scam but I'm pretty sure its a numbers game. Anyway the question asked was: What are you looking for?
I had to think about that for a minute but the answer is relatively simple. I am looking for someone I enjoy hanging out with. Self suficient, smartass, who is unoffended by swearing or dark humor. Non smoke or vaper and someone who hates drama as much as I do. A mutual attraction is a must. And that's pretty much it. I'm swiping through these pictures looking specifically for women I want to try and make smile every day. I am officially a sappy idiot.
