I need to start with the fact that an Urban Stealth Camper was cockblocking my moving truck in Minneapolis.
This special needs bus tiny home parked there for three days so I had no shot at my plan of parking my own car there and then moving when my company showed up. It all worked out in the end but that was the first in a long list of move day annoyances.
On the positive side I’m pretty sure one of my crew was addicted to some form of drug that accelerates human beings. He basically ran back and forth to the truck only falling an impressive three times. My whole place was in the truck an hour and twenty seven minutes after they arrived. For comparison my last move took three and a half hours with a crew of three not two. Not all drugs are bad in all situations…
The move was overall a great experience. Once everything arrived at the new place I just had to point and the things ended up where I wanted them to be. Unpacking boxes was the big annoyance but then again I don’t have that much stuff. The only mistake was helping my roommate move his new queen size mattress into the house. He had to rent a truck from Home Depot to go pick it up because delivery was five days out and once we had it back here I thought the long trek into his room was going to take both of us out. It turns out that the elderly (and yes I know exactly how old I am) board that governs this joint will not allow any form of loading through the front doors. This means a march the width of the building whilst wrestling 1/2 of a 140 pound hybrid mattress. I looked the fucker up when we were done because I wanted to know the stats of the opponent who defeated me.
Anyhow, we are in and partially settled. I have not found my rhythm. I had to travel right away Monday and the Delta Airlines O’Hare combo was new to me. Add on the fact that all of my flights with that airline now include layovers in nearby hub cities and I spent last week jammed up. I finished the week with a never again red-eye flight complete with a 6:00am landing in Minneapolis followed by a 45 minutes wait for my under an hour flight. Switching to United as soon as I reach Status so hopefully they match the perks I’ve earned this year.
I have a bunch of partial written nonsense that I’ll try to post this week because I am taking an administrative break before I travel for 2 straight weeks to complete this month. Thus ends this long boring whine fest. I need to do better.
