Great weekend ahead
The great Minnesota Gathering began last night and there is nothing like starting the festivities off with a griddled bacon-wrapped hot dog from the legendary Kramarczuk's Sausage Company served on a Nordic waffle alongside cheddar cheese, pickle slices and crispy onions, then drizzled with burger sauce. Yup that was right out of the gate and it was delicious. I played it cool the rest of the evening as this State Fair is a marathon not a sprint. Some roasted corn on the cob, bacon on a stick, TomThumb mini donuts, you know, light staples.
Also, nothing quite like tweaking your back for a stupid picture with your friend to torture your other friends not in attendance. I am an enormous child in an old man’s body.
Two of my three children dove up last night to spend a couple of days with me at this glorious event but they have yet to arise this fine morning. They finally got here at 3:45am so their sleeping in is warranted. As I walked outside to greet them and help get their parking sorted out I was not pleased to hear the sound of metal grinding metal as the brakes were applied. So I got my happy ass up and drove to my local car place earlier and the news was not great. Shit happens and it will be corrected whilst we are enjoying the people watching and not good for anyone foods.
Ive officially made myself hungry so I need to awaken the travelers. More pics to follow…
