Goodish
Here’s something I learned today: in a time when authorities can’t figure out how to stop killing folks in a specific segment of the population even during a trial that shines a spotlight on a flyover part of the country and its enforcers of the law (deep mental inhale to take a break from this abhorrent run on sentence) the government enacts a curfew to try and prevent protests turning into riots...
Shit, I just drove a mental mile out of my way. What I was trying to say was the curfew was an unexpected early morning pain in my ass. Due to some piss poor planning and an unavoidable connection in Atlanta my plane boarded at 6:00am. This meant that I needed to get to the airport no later than 5:30. (MSP is not the hassle that most airports provide) The curfew officially ended when I was supposed to board but I figured that was more of a loose suggestion. The trouble was that there were no Uber or Lyft drivers out breaking the rules so I was screwed.
This meant that after a half hour of trying to get a ride I needed to drive my happy ass to the airport and park. Not the worst thing in the world but the lot was absolutely packed probably due to the aforementioned issues. It’s going to be a bit spendy but it was drive or not go.
Now that I’m laying over in Atl I’m typing whilst standing in line for some much needed food. I just had a mild disagreement with a dude pushing a wheelchair. He wanted to “quickly squeeze in front of me” to which I replied no thank you.
He was completely taken aback but I could see that his charge was completely embarrassed. He had no idea what to make of this giant who had been waiting for 15 minutes not allowing him and his handicapable companion cuts.
He stared at me as if requiring an answer so I gave him one. “You look fine and can even lean on the handles if you get tired. She’s seated, so I see no reason for special treatment.”
They steamed away in a huff but the nice lady behind me said thanks. So good-ish deed done for the day.
