farewell
Bit of a weird start today as someone stole my deck chair. Pile that on top of the fact that all 3 of my top picks for Illinois living got away and I am in a bit of a dickish mood. I’m telling myself that maybe the person who got my chair needed it more than I did but that didn’t help because I am pretty sure I just upgraded the seating at a get high hide out. Nothing I can do about it now other than be on the look out. *Even if I find it by the way I will never retake possession. One common denominator amongst the severely addicted is failure to remove clothing whilst evacuating waste. Don’t ask yourself or them about the smells… you don’t want the answer.
In other news my pending move has me marching around this place on the weekends like a tourist. I will dump a bunch of pictures on this partially to remind myself at a later date how cool it was. I will not miss the entitled bicycle riders in the morning but we have fallen into a rhythm of them saying “On your left!” and me countering with “Go fuck yourself.” It’s the little things in life that bring me joy.
And speaking of joy I finally got to walk out on the Mississippi locks by my house. Not exciting for anyone buy me but I’ve been walking around them for a year and a half.
I spoke with one of the people working there and no boats were scheduled to take the ride but they do sometimes get drive-ups. I wasn’t waiting.
pretty cool that the dam used to power a big Ford plant and now its just a pain in the ass for boats.
That entire island was under water a month ago so the water must be lower but that’s my only gauge. I need to go on another walk as I mourn the loss of my chair. Hopefully you’ve found a good home buddy. You served me well and now you are for the streets.
