The smallest things can make me happy like looking out of my window and seeing cool things depicted above… Then the turd in the seat next to me asked what I was taking a picture of… I just stared at him in disbelief. Didn’t even answer as he had soured my momentary bliss. A bunch of twisted shit immediately ran through my skull but I am working on NOT amplifying bad juju. A nice back and forth is one of my love languages but I could tell that this idiot wasn’t up to the task so I let it go.
I have been trying to get back into drawing especially on longer flights. I am a big human so working on my larger than normal laptop (old man eyes edition) for too long is cumbersome. I kind of have to type like a T-Rex with my elbows pinned to the back of my seat and the keyboard resting against my belly. I am a cover model for Not Ergonomic Magazine.
Anyway, I then shift over to the iPad mini for some doodling. It has been a lot of years since I’ve drawn on the regular and the one thing I can objectively say is yikes. Drawing takes practice and I am out of said same. As I try to get back into my visual creative side this early part is going to be painful. I tell you this because after the random dude piped in about my cloud picture there was no way I was going to draw like shit in front of him. I guess I could have tried it in DONT COPY ME mode. You know, tablet angled away, off hand blocking his view, you get the drill. But I was so annoyed by that as a child attempting to copy off the papers of others that I can’t behave like that as an adult. So I just tucked deeper in to my audiobook.
This creative push is brought to you by the new year and a very creative old friend who has a business based on making cool stuff. JSR Designs is someone I’ve known since way back in art school where she also put me to creative shame. Now I get to watch as her talent is being shown to the world.
I don’t fully understand it but that is obviously an antique something or other with her work inset.
I think its like a mix of real flowers, paint and epoxy but all I know is its cool as hell.
Pretty sure her equally talented husband is helping as well but what do I know?
The picture above is just one of a number of cool Lazy Suzannes (by the way if someone named Suzanne invented a round thing that lets you pass stuff by rotating a circular board being called lazy is a shitty deal. Should be an Awesome Suzanne… but per usual, I digress) but I can’t justify that purchase. Once the Uber Eats hits the house there is no need for that much pageantry whilst consuming my food.
If I buy anything from her it will be one of these bad boys…
But I’m gonna need mine filled with something other than flowers… Like thumbtacks, or little screws. Maybe redhots candies Strike that, bug potential is high even with the protective epoxy so definitely not. I am also considering commissioning the sign language sign for asshole with something fun in the thumb and pointer… I’ll wait until she’s more famous to make that request.
