an odd time in these parts
I had someone make the comment that I picked an interesting time to relocate to this particular part of Minnesota and I just shook it off as alarmist. I had a second thought last week when I venture over to my local Target for the first time in a while.
This is right across the street at the Saint Paul Police station branch. They have built a concrete and barbed wire moat around the place just in case this current trial goes sideways somehow and the world around here tilts on its axis.
Legit fear as I see it. You never know which way the legal ball will bounce. And so you know my target is one of those that you probably saw in the news last year. The ones where people turned protests into a chance to shop while wearing masks and skip the pesky paying for things hassle in the name of justice.
By the way I don't really blame any of the protesters. The only thing I worry about when pulled over is how much the ticket is going to cost me and what it will do to my insurance rates. Not one have I ever thought I might get shot. Also, in my defense, gravity and I have never been friends so I could have feet that are heavier than a normal humans. This would make sense if you think about the extraordinary job these flippers do keeping my superstructure upright and moving.
I got off track there because those pictures made me think that the moat was built around the wrong place. No one wants to break IN to a police station... Target should have a come get stuff for free barrier. My two cents.
